Resolution passed against Hinduphobia in Georgia, said-
Hinduism is one of the most ancient religions of the world'
One is our country where Hindus and Sanatani culture are openly mocked, now there is a need to make such a strict law in India too.
America's Georgia Assembly has passed a resolution criticizing Hinduphobia. With this, Georgia has become the first state in America to take steps against Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bigotry in the Assembly. The resolution was introduced by Atlanta's Forsyth County Representatives Lauren McDonald and Todd Jones.
The resolution states that Hinduism is one of the largest and oldest religions in the world. It has 1.2 billion followers in about 100 countries all over the world. It houses a range of diverse traditions and belief systems with values of acceptance, mutual respect and peace. Hinduism has improved the lives of a large number of people.
It is further stated that the American-Hindu community has been a major contributor in diverse fields such as medicine, science and engineering, information technology, finance, education, construction, energy, retail trade. It also states that the contribution of the Hindu community in the fields of yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, food, music, art has enriched the cultural fabric. It has been widely adopted by American society and has improved the lives of millions of people.
The resolution further states that several parts of the country have reported cases of hate crimes against Hindu-Americans over the past few decades. Hinduphobia has been institutionalized by some academics who advocate eradicating Hinduism and accuse its holy scriptures of practices of violence and persecution.
